Anyone knows about hair extensions? & hair regrowth?

I had a very bad experience with these and was wondering if anyone had been through something similar in regard to hairloss due to extensions. Mine seems as though it is slowly recovering but I am 20 years old and wonder how long it will truly take to get back to the way that it was. The outer layer of my hair was basically unnaffected (aside from the ends) while the inner layers are now short and rather sparse. I do not have any bald spots. I was wondering if someone went through something similar and how long it tooked for them to notice that their hair was recovering. Did you eventually get your texture back? What did you do in the meantime?Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?
If your hair is falling out after extensions its probably due to the way they were put in, if they were sewn in the tracks were too tight and if glued it may be an allergic reaction. Whatever the case a gentle shampoo (something for colored hair is the best.) and a weekly cholesterol treatment will work miracles, if you can't find cholesterol mayo is the home remedy. After shampooing your hair apply the cholesterol(or mayo) and put a plastic shower cap over it, let it set for thirty to forty-five minutes then rinse (*if you use mayo you will want to lightly shampoo after as well as before.) Your hair will improve within weeks and you should see length differences within a month. Vitamins do help, but try not to wash your hair every day (this strips your hair of the natural vitamins it is already supplied.) ***Pantene of any kind is not a good idea, it has high alcohol agents which dry out your hair and cause it to break, also stay away from citrus products which do the same thing. Really hope this helps!Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?
damaged hair grows slower than healthy hair. hair grows on average of 1 cm a month and faster in the summer or warmer months of the year. you may want to start taking prenatal vitamins to speed your hair growth and make it stronger and fuller.

i never had hair extensions but i burned a part of my hair right off my scalp. yeah........it took 3 months or so to start looking better. but your hair will grow back. dont stress, massage your scalp and wash it with organic shampoo and take your vitamins. you might end up with better hair than before...:)
Hair extensions are terrible if you get cheap european/indian hair. I had them for prom and that was IT! They itch ... are terrible to wash ... and come loose if you brush too hair (mine were sew in). I hair problems for the past four years b/c I dyed it too much. Dying my hair left me with anything but beautiful results. My hair started breaking off, drying up, and getting gum like if I would dye it again. My suggestion to you is to get regular trims every eight weeks. I've been doing it for over six months and I have beautiful healthy hair again. I have almost all of my natural color back too.

You also should do a deep conditioning treatment everyday. Pantene Restoratives will help you out with that. The one I use is designed to repair two years of damage in one month. It really works.

Hope this helps.
this happened to me too...it will grow back at the normal hair growth rate...my hair was actually thicker when it grew back in...i did decide to cut it short though because of the unevenness of it...

How do you sew clips on extensions (hair wefts)?

HELPP! I just bought some extensions from Sally's and I need to know how to sew on the clips! Use a lot of detail (I'm slow. LMAO)! Links and Video's are nice too =]]

Thanks. How do you sew clips on extensions (hair wefts)?
Girl!! I am an expert at this, ive been using clip in hair and im about to put another one in.

Here are the supplies you need:

    Hair weaving thread

    Regular sewing needle (large)

    Clips

    Scissors

    Tail Comb

    Feather Comb(for styling)

    Step-

    1. Get the hair, comb it out

2.Next, prep your real hair. Wash it, wrap it, blow dry it, relax, whatever you do to get your hair ready for a weave

    3. You part your hair, starting from the bottom, horizontally

4.Take a weft,Put it across the part you just made. It should be placed from your left ear, to your right ear.

    5. Use your finger to mark where the weft meets the 2nd ear and get scissors to cut it

    6. Now, take the weft you just cut and get a clip, i usually use about 3 clips for the tracks i am placing on the bottom and as i get to the top i use 4.

    7. Take a regular sewing needle and make sure the clip is facing inside.

    8. Sew 3-4 loops on the left side of the clip and 3-4 loops on the right side of the clip onto the weft.

    9. After the clips are on. Open the clips. Place the clips on the part in your hair you made earlier and clip the hair in.

    10. Now from this point on, you are just parting hair to cover each track you made

    11. After all of the clipped in hair is in,You comb it. Wrap it ,roller set and you are ready to go

I hope that wasn't too confusing , doing it is alot easier and if that was a little hard to understand , try youtube and you may find someone who can show you how to do itHow do you sew clips on extensions (hair wefts)?
see WWW.NATUREGRACE.COM for step by step instructions and diagrams for this, the hair is amazing also

Where can I buy hair wigs/hair extensions/hair weave like the stars such as Tyra Bank wears?

Beauty Supply Stores, just make sure that the hair you buy is real Human hair. The wax is expensive, but should last for maybe two applications. It is easier if you dip the end of the hair into the hot glue and then attach to your hair, less burning of the fingers and a much neater job...

You will have some loss when you shampoo, a good application and a lot of care on your part and it could last a while.Where can I buy hair wigs/hair extensions/hair weave like the stars such as Tyra Bank wears?
Look up lace front custom wigs on ebay. Lace front custom wigs are the latest thing a lot of celebrities have been wearing from some time. they range from $200-$5000.Where can I buy hair wigs/hair extensions/hair weave like the stars such as Tyra Bank wears?
Tyra probably wears that weave like those other stars wear that costs about $800 a track. Trya is probably cheap just like her mama said. She said that Tyra doesn't even wear real diamonds. you can save money by going to your nearest beauty supply store and if you get somebody that knows how to do hair it will look like your real hair. if ur tracks be showing after they've finished ur hair they didn't do a good job u shouldn't pay them.

What color extensions/hair dye would look good on me?

I want to get either extensions or temporarily dye a little bit of my hair.

I don't want pink, puke green, black, yellow or white.

    I have lightly tanned skin

    medium/long dark brown hair

and dark brown eyes. What color extensions/hair dye would look good on me?
i am actually considering doing the same thing, but i picked pink myself. i dont think a nice royal blue would be a bad idea, or maybe aqua. theres always red, but you gotta go bright or not at all (or it'll look like a normal hair style gone way wrong) hope this helps.

    Help with Extension Hair?

have long hair, I would always bleach %26amp; dye the bottom %26amp; after a couple months just cut it off, But I decided to be adventerous (sp?) %26amp; almost dyed the entire thing blonde, my entire family was like DO NOT...I felt so bad for going against their will (im not that much of a goody 2 shoes, but my family's opinion is important) that i decided to do what they wanted %26amp; just do a streak, I had so much excess bleach that i ended up doing like 10 of them, than i dyed it %26amp; it looks repulsive, disgusting with my dark hair %26amp; i cant dye it again anytime soon or my hair would probably fall out %26amp; since its mostly in the front of the hair, that isn't gonna happen. So, can i get (Clip-On) extencions on the top of the hair? cz usually i see people with extencions just to make their hair long.Help with Extension Hair?
Go to a professional and get it reversed. If you get clip on extensions in the front you will be able to see the clips since it is in the very front of your head.Help with Extension Hair?
no no no!!! dont EVER bleach it again, unless its professionally done! your hair WILL fall out! save it while you can!

Hi, my name is Heatherley, and I am a hair stylist. How short is your hair? If your hair is chin length or if it doesn't touch your shoulders, it will take a lot of bundles of extensions to make your hair look good. You will most likely need 14 to 19 bundles of hair. Depending on the salon you go to, it will cost you anywhere from $1,500.00 to $3,000.00. The cost usually depends on how many bundles you use. You can make it cheaper by not using as many extensions, but IT WILL NOT LOOK GOOD. I hope this answer could be of some help to you.

Just buy new hair.My clip in weave hair extension hair is starting to look bad how do i make the hair look like new again?
wash them and deep condition them, let them air dry and then use your flat iron or some other heat styling tool. it is important that you dont add tons of styling products to your extensions this causes the stringy seperations your getting. the less you weigh it down the better. they will move more naturally and you will get more wear out them if you dont apply any styling products, but you have to apply heat to give it the body and bounce you want. good luck!
wash them in vinegar. that makes them shiny.

also, if you dye them, try not to for a while,

and if they just look really old, consider buying new ones.
Wash it and deep condition it.

Hang it over your shower or on a hanger to air dry.

Is there anything i can do to get extension hair glue out of my hair?

No need to worry. Swing by your local Sally's Beauty Supply. They should have a shampoo that removes the glue. If they don't have the shampoo swing into any salon and they can give you a hand. I hope you get the glue out.

What Does That ';Extension Hair'; Glue Do To Your Hair?

    Besides stick on

extensions to your hair...?What Does That ';Extension Hair'; Glue Do To Your Hair?
If you are gluing extensions in your hair, first you can't have any oils in your hair or the glue wont stick. To take it out you have to basically drench it in oil to get it out. The removers they sell in the stores don't work. the only thing that I have found that works is baby oil and it removes all the residue.

I used glue for about 3 months and my natural hair didn't grow at all, and it thinned out my hair. I would not do it myself...What Does That ';Extension Hair'; Glue Do To Your Hair?
Having extensions bonded to your hair by glue may make your scalp and head rather itchy. Even when you use the oil formulated for removing the glue, residue is left behind. If you run your fingers through your hair afterwards, it may not feel too pleasant. Also, taking a shower or washing your hair will loosen the extensions but the glue will remain on your hair/scalp. Those with common sense know that you can't just yank out the extensions without something to help dissolve the adhesive. That would be similar to ripping off acrylic nails.

  • Are hair extension hair colours the same everywhere?

i went to a shop the other day and they said my hair is the colour 613 which is pale blonde, and i was looking on ebay and some of the 613 photos look darker or yellower than my hair, or is this just the photo? (i know its hard to take true to life photos of hair colours) does the hair have to be a certain colour to be 613 or do the owners make it up themselves? help! Are hair extension hair colours the same everywhere?
No hair extentions differ everywhere...you need the same brand if you want to stick with the same colour...in my salon we use Racoon Hair extensions, and we have people asking for the numbers they've seen on the Cinderella hair extentions then they are shocked that its a totally different colour. You best bet if you cant get the same brand is to take your old extentions and match them with the shops colours.

Hope ive helped xoxAre hair extension hair colours the same everywhere?
613 will also be blonde but depending on the supplier may be different shades of blonde. if your worried about it then buy from a shop that you can actually compare the hair to your own.
owners don't make it up themselves i shouldn't think, so maybe it is just the picture.

What hair extension hair type is best?

I am trying to buy hair extensions, but I dont know which is better human hair quality... asian or indian hair?

what do you think ((personal experiences))

Also do you know where I can buy human hair extensions (clip ons) for less than $50?What hair extension hair type is best?
Indian remy is better than Asian. Asian har is coarse so is stripped in acid baths to thin it. Then coated with silicone to make it feel soft. It's great until you wash it a couple of times, then it starts to matt! Indian remy is naturally soft, so doesn't have to go through that process.

I made the mistake of buying Asian hair the first time I had extensions and had to take full head of extensions out after 2 weeks :(

I know have full head Indian extensions and they look and feel great :)

I don't know where in th US you'd buy them, as Im in the uk. Just google Indian remy hair.

Hope that helps. What hair extension hair type is best?
It really isn't worth buying the asian hair! I used shampoo and conditioner specifically for extensions. Once that silicone coating is gone. the hair is dry and tatty! Trust me on that one, you get what you pay for :) x

A few questions about hair-extensions/hair growth...?

So I've gone back and forth for a few weeks as far as getting this done.

Back in November I had to have my hair cut off very short in order to get it all to grow at an even length, but the problem is my hair doesn't grow quickly at all ( it took almost 3 years to get it from my shoulders to an inch or 2 above my breasts), hence the want for extensions until I can get it to my desired length.

I don't personally know anyone who has had them before so I wanted to ask here to get some feedback.

Right now, my hair is, at it's longest, 2-3 inches [in the back, my ';bangs'; fall to the middle of my cheeks].

Is this too short to have extensions put in?

What is the best method to use when getting them?

I'd prefer a method where my hair won't fall out or be damaged to the point I'd have to cut it off short again, completely defeating my purpose.

Also, how expensive do these usually run? Or is that something that varies from salon/stylist to salon/stylist?

Also will I be able to shampoo/condition, brush, style, etc. the extensions after (and if) I get them?

Or does anyone know of any shampoos/vitamins/etc that will help accelerate hair growth?

Any ';experienced'; input would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks :)A few questions about hair-extensions/hair growth...?
most hair grows 2-3cm a month on average theres nothing you can do about it.

a good balanced diet can help.

hair extentions are very expensive...i would love real ones but i just cant afford them they are expensive because they are real and also because it takes 4hours+ to get a full head of them glued in.

if you do get this done you will be able to to anything to them when it comes to styling and washing them.

you need to look after them or they can knot up with your actual hair and it can be very painful and costly to sort out. and your hair will probably end up shorter than it already is.

also you need them removed every 3months as they are glued onto your real hair at the roots and after 3 months your hair will have grow so much that you wont beable to brush your roots and it looks a mess.

i have clip in extentions made from real hair so i can style them and i take them out whenever i like. just got to make sure you cover the clips up well!

my friend recommended them to me. she wears them all the time and i didnt even realise it! you just take them out at night and put them in again in the morning!

they are also quite cheap i got a full head of them for 拢29 which is alot better than the hundreds i would spend on proper extentions.A few questions about hair-extensions/hair growth...?

Thin hair due to extensions & hair recovery?

Did anyone experience hair breakage from extensions? I had the fusion kind about a year ago and my hair is still recovering. The broken hair is underneath, closer to my scalp, so it is not noticable. I see a steady progression in my hair becoming thicker, actually...the stuff growing in is really thick and the rest of my hair is fuller than it used to be. The reason it feels thin is because of the discrepancy between the broken part growing in (at about the bottom of my neck) and the rest of my hair which is down to my collarbone. I typically use thickening %26amp; volumizing products and take vitamins such as futurebiotics hair, skin and nails, hairtopia (which doesn't seem to work at all) and a women's ultra mega supplement from GNC.I just ordered ultra nourishair as the GNC bottle seems to be giving me hair that is very light in comparison to the rest of my hair. I just wanted to know if anyone experienced hair thinning/breakage due to extensions and how long did it take for hair 2recoverThin hair due to extensions %26amp; hair recovery?

Clip in hair extensions - hair length?

I am currently growing out my hair - but it is still very short (made the mistake of cutting it short again for the summer - and am now deeply regretting it)

I have been looking into clip-in hair extensions because they seem the easiest for what I am after, but I was wondering how long my hair needs to be before they will work? (Ie. you won't be able to see the clip. I understand you will see different hair layers, but I am not *that picky)

Currently, my hair is the ';modern bob'; style - very short in the back, with longer chunky pieces up front that hit just at the top of my chin - pretty short.

Would clip ins work now? Or how long do I need to grow my hair out before I invest in them?

    Thanks everyone!

*waiting for long hair, saddened at my current short*Clip in hair extensions - hair length?
I had the same haircut last summer. Yikes, thank gosh I got it at the beginning and the back grew back before school starts.

I don't think you can use hair extensions until the back has grown to shoulder-length, or an inch or two shorter. Since the ';modern bob'; cut is pretty short, the extensions will look pretty fake and stand out, even if you manage to hide the clip.

I suggest waiting for a while. In the meantime, leaving it out is the best thing you can do. Headbands and clips don't look too great with this haircut. Try to do the best with what you have.

Good luck !Clip in hair extensions - hair length?
i would say grow your hair out to about shoulder length my friend had short hair like yours and put extensions in the were not layered they looked ridiculous

and then get your extensions layered to make it look as though it is your real hair try getting your hair razored it blends it together more

Yes! This happened to me! All you can do, is keep it trimmed, and as the broken layers grow, get the rest of your hair trimmed to that level, to keep it neat looking.

Recovery time? Depends on how long it takes for your hair to grow out.Breakage from extensions %26amp; hair recovery?
wow if you put half as much effort into your appearance as you did into this question, you'd be set!
    omg that happend to me!

i got extentions about a year and half ago and i think that my hair has fully recovered. My hair went sooooooo thin and would drop out when i washed it, even after i took the extensions out. Its a bit thicker now and i think it has just about recovered. I really feel for you, dont worry it will recover. i know, it was the worst decision i ever made too!

    xxxx
Sorry cant help as i dont know about hair and stuff but good luck and i hope it grows back quickly for you. All the best x
Yes I had a similar experience, actually my hair would fall of if I ran my fingers through it. It was horrible. I did recoup, It took a few months but I would never recommend extensions. Take you vitamins, keep it clean, and wait. Thats all you can really do now. Best of luck!
By and large the more you mess with artificially changing your hair the more damage you do to it. Little by little it goes away and soon you will not have anything to worry about.

well, im trying to grow my hair REALLY long, like down to my bum. its half way down my back now (a bit longer when straightened). but i havent had my hair cut since the begining of june, %26amp; it's now half way through november, and as i straighten my hair alot, i have a ton of split ends. i deep condition my hair once a month, and use good shampoos %26amp; conditioners. but should i get it cut to get it in better condition? if so, how short and should i get extensions? if i should, how much would they cost in the uk, %26amp; where from?

thanx in advance :) xHair cut/extensions HAIR CRISIS!!!! HELP! lol?
u know wat jus be more patient, and trim ur hair from the bottom to get rid of split ends, as this wud speed up the growth of ur hair, split ends slow down ur growht. also dotn wash ur hair everyday just every other day as too much washing would damage hair and cause the growth to slow down.

dont get extensions i wudnt recommend them

also wen washin ur hair use cool water, as hair geets damaged with hot water

I typically use thickening %26amp; volumizing products and take vitamins such as futurebiotics hair, skin and nails, hairtopia (which doesn't seem to work at all) and a women's ultra mega supplement from GNC.I just ordered ultra nourishair as the GNC bottle seems to be giving me hair that is very light in comparison to the rest of my hair. I just wanted to know if anyone experienced hair thinning/breakage due to extensions and how long did it take for hair 2recoverHair extensions%26amp; hair recovery?

I am so sorry to hear what happened to you but with all the treatments out on the market, I would not give up. I am going to recommend a treatment which is fabulous. It is called Biolustre and you can either call some salons in your area so that you can get this treatment ASAP or order the at home treatment and do it yourself. THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS!!! I had damaged hair beyond belief, from chemicals and dyes, and my hair was so brittle and thin, it would break off if you even looked at it! So needless to say, I was told to cut it all off and start over. Then I went to Dallas and heard about this stuff. I went to a salon and got the treatment and I almost cried because my hair felt and look so much better afterwards. Now its strong and healthy again thanks to this treatment. So again, don't give up because there is hope. Happy Holidays to you and if you decide to get this treatment, let me know what you think: peach273@yahoo.com. (the link is listed below)

    Extensions & hair breakage? recovery?

without any research I was desperate enough to trust a woman who used the hot fusion method to apply extensions to my hair. It looked great at first, but the hair was incredibly heavy and would dry out in a matter of days. I had to continue to go back to the salon. Anyway, I had them removed after a month of wear and was DEVASTATED by the results. My hair was twice as thin as it was before the application! I wore clip ins to disguise the damage. It is now over a year later and what has really seemed to help was a layered cut. However, the under layers are still very broken, short and somewhat sparse.I do not have any bald spots except some areas around my temples which are only noticible when my hair is greasy and pulled back tightly. The outer layer of my hair covers most of the damage. However, when I touch it and put it backthere are areas that are somewhat seethrough and thin. I was wondering if my hair has a chance to recover. Has anyone else been through this?Extensions %26amp; hair breakage? recovery?

    Extensions & hair breakage?

Yeah so it has been awhile since I have really felt good about myself. I had a horrendous experience with hair extensions during October of last year and my hair is still recovering. I was just wondering if anyone experienced bad breakage due to hair extensions and how long it took for their hair to recover. What did you do? What kind of products did you use? What seemed to really help? I had the glued-in kind..they were cheap %26amp; I was told that it was human hair but I doubt that as of now. Upon removal my hair was supperrr thin. It was fine to begin with but it was plentiful. When I had it removed it was very sparse at the thin. At the current time it has thickened up since last year, but it still not where it used to be. It is difficult to go through this. It definitely takes a toll on your self-confidence. I am 20 years old and I really hope I don't have to go through this forever. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been through something like this.Extensions %26amp; hair breakage?
I corn row braid my daughter's hair...and sew her extensions in myself...her real hair really grows...and the only hair getting damaged is the human hair extensions, she flat irons, and curls with really hot heat. Maybe this is a good idea for you until your real hair grows out....never...never...never use glue....even the good kind breaks off your hair. I do it myself, I buy the hair extension thread and needle at Sally's Beauty...I also buy the Human Hair there (you can probably get better quality, at a better price onlin), I braid her hair straight back in corn rows, except for a small piece in front, where she parts it(this covers up the top row where I sew it in)......Wa La! Good luck tho, I hope this helps....my daughter's self esteem was so low, because of her thin, fine, breaking hair, this did wonders for her....good luck!Extensions %26amp; hair breakage?
I have never been interested in extensions because the concept of using glue as a holding agent on hair was not worth the risk of losing my natural hair.
My hair was damaged eons ago from the gheri curl fad of the 80's. I got it to grow back (oddly enough) by having extentions braided into my hair. However there were times when i left the braids in to long and in getting them out, it would damage my hair and now my hair is just jacked up. My hair grows at different speeds and lengths depending on which part you're referring to. (sides grow faster than back and top but yet the left side grows faster than the right side). In recent years, i've seen so many split ends in my hair that i've truly become so obsessed at getting rid of them that i now have to keep my hair covered by scarves so that i can't see them. The scarf isn't helping though because all it's doing is drying out the natural oils in my hair because the scarf is an absorbant..and i'm depriving myself the natural health from the sun and air. I've tried cutting it short but it really doesn't look good with the shape of my face so i just go on suffering. However, i concur with the horse shampoo.. I think it's actually called ';mane and tail';?? that's really good stuff. Any beauty supply store (and possibly even the supermarket or drug store) will carry it. Aphogee and Doo Grow can help as well.. However my hair seems to become resistent to those products with constant use. Good Luck!
you might not of had them in right, and how did you take them out? if you just pulled them out then thats why, you have to buy two types of solution to break-down the glue.ut yea the glue tends to break down your hair. if it is bad, try to get a layered cut, it makes the difference, i pulled mine out too, and had hair breakage.
I have never had the glued in kind but I have had the kind that you sew into a vertical braid. Those are the best kind and they don't ruin you hair at all........ Actually you could go and get those kind done right now while your hair recovers and it wold make you feel a lot better about yourself.... They make your hair look nice and thick........ Check out this link:
    nope i didnt srry
i did, try the horse shampoo from CVS, it strengthens your hair and helps it grow faster, i know what your thinking, ew horse shampoo, but it really does work and it smells really good too my hair is even better than before the extentions

the bottle is tall and round with purple horses at my CVS

    seriously try it
I last had extensions in 1996.. I still have a thin patch 12 years later, and this is after seeking medical help when I had a rash from the adhesive after the 4th day. My hair has gotten progressively thinner over this time period and I suspect it is from my extension episode.

Never again. I keep my hair short now and have made friends with hats and lots of cute hair accessories. A few wigs for special occasions.

Good luck to you my dear.
I just went through the same thing 2 years ago, yeah it may take a while for your natural hair to grow back believe me I went through it all, but really the best thing to do is just to keep going to a professional stylist every two weeks, or if you cannot afford the stylist then just ask them what they would recommend for your hair, because they know best. But if you can go to the stylist every two weeks that would be great, because they can get your hair back in no time, they have the experience, and all the right items to make magic work, plus believe me they know more about hair then anybody, so that would be your best option.

Sleeping with extensions? Hair Extension questions!?

So I recently dyed my hair black about a week ago, and I bought black hair extensions because my hair is really short.

And I've never had extensions before, btw there real human hair.

But I was just asking if people do sleep with them on?

I see people all the time with like 50 hair extensions in there hair, and like on youtube and things there up like 2am with them in! Do people sleep with them in?

I just hate putting them in and then at the end of the day taking them out and brushing them and then the next day go through the whole thing again!

And also when do you think I should buy new ones? I just got mine two weeks ago and I wear them about 4 or 5 days out of the week, sometimes even just 2 it depends if i'm going out.Sleeping with extensions? Hair Extension questions!?
If there just clip ins I wouldnt sleep in them incase they get more knotted.

I have glue in ones and have found that my hair knots alot when I slept. Alot of these knots are now permadent which I need to cut out.

You dont need to buy new ones until yours strart going bad (split ends, just generally dont look real)

If u dont straighten, blow dry or sleep in them too often you shouldnt need to replace them for yearsSleeping with extensions? Hair Extension questions!?
So I guess you are using the clip in extensions??? You will get a lot longer life out of them if you do not sleep with them in. It may pill hair out too. If you must sleep with them in get your self a silk pillow case and tie your hair up in a silk scarf, this will keep them from knotting up. you should get new ones when they don't look good any more. I also recommend little to no product and *** little washing as possible.
People sleep with permanent hair extensions like fusion hair extensions. When it comes to clip in hair extensions, those are meant to be used for events and removed prior to sleep to keep them lasting for the long term.
So I'm assuming they are clip ins? I would take them out every night, but it's no big deal at all if you sleep in them once in a while. I would wrap something around your head just to help protect them and touch them up in the morning.
braid your hair , put a scarf around your head, this helps alot! so your hair wont get messy or tangled.

    Hair Extensions/hair style......... :]?

Okay so my hair used to be very long but i chopped it off because i didn't know what to do with it!

clip ins are really good. you can take them off when ever you want. and i got mine from horrorkidz.com

they are real hairHair Extensions/hair style......... :]?
Clip ins are actually less damaging to your hair but some people find them uncomfortable. It's based on personal preference and what type of hair you have. Also it depends if you don't want them to be noticeable, like clip ins, then you can go with beaded extensions. As for the hair I would try the internet there are lots of websites that sell them pretty cheap, or go to a local beauty supply. If you want them cheap go to a store in the less expensive part of the city. They will charge you a lot less for the same thing than in a high class beauty salon.
ok, so first off.... when it comes to hair, good and cheap NEVER go together. sorry, but its one or the other.

when it comes to glued in vs sewed in vs clipped in... you have to decide how long you want to wear them. when you sew it in, it can last any where from a couple weeks to a couple months depending on the hair and who did it, with glue, chances are it wont last too much longer than a week, and clip ins??? they can come out at night ( very bad if youre with a guy, i learned the hard way...)

the hair might be easier to hide in your own hair if its glued in, with sewing you might get little bumps that dont look natural.

i sew my hair in and i get it from a store out near LA, their website is myhair365.com

i love them!! well good luck!!
Not sure about the type of hair to go with, but if you want to have a wild hair DIY adventure - you can do it yourself on the cheap with Virtual Village hair extension supplies-

    Enjoy!
Clip ins are awesome. I use them all the time and it gives you a variety of choices. You can have short and long hair. Sewn in are too permanent for my taste. Hmm, my clip ins were bought for me but try sallys. But they will run any where from around 80 to 140 for a good set.

Most hairdressers would be able to advise you on where to get them and how to put them in. Though I'm sure most would consider themselves better able to do it for you.

Otherwise you could ask around at wig places (check the yellow pages) or even Price Attack or somewhere like that.

Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?

Hi. I am a 17 year old African American female and 5 days ago I got box braids for the first time. I am currently transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair and I figured this would make it an easier process. Well, I am already experiencing hair loss around the edges and the braids are very tight. I do not want to take them out because I paid $185 to have it done, but at the same time, I do not want my hair to come out. Is there a way I can keep the braids and stop the breakage before it gets worse or should I just take tem out?

Also, my natural hair is past my shoulders, so it took a bulk of weave to get this style, which also causes even more pulling and stress for my scalp.Box braids/ extensions/ hair loss. hELP!?
I'm going to guess that avoiding permanent hair loss will be worth a lot more than $185 to you in the long run. It is a lot of money but just imagine the people who are willing to pay thousands to get hair replacement surgery. You do not want to have permanent damage to your scalp! If your hair is coming out at the root and/or you have little white bumps forming, take the braids out and try to get a full or partial refund from the salon.

One thing you can try is to take a towel and soak it in water that is as hot as you can stand. Wring it out well and wrap it around your head. Leave it there until it cools. This may help loosen the braids.

You could also take out just the braids around the edges and have a friend help you put them back in more loosely. Check out www.BraidsByBreslin.com and www.KhamitKinks.com for a series of braiding videos. You can do it yourself less expensively and with better care given to your scalp.

If your hair is past your shoulders, you could also have it braided or two strand twisted and set on rollers without extensions.

    Hope this helps, Kaya

ooh girl i know how u feel...i have micros and you know micros pull your edges and stuff but just get some Organics Hair Care products like the Carrot Oil and Hair Mayonnaise and rub it around your edges and on the braids every day more than once a day if you want and it will help your hair keep its strength and help it grow in the braids...and it works really good...you can get it from any beauty supply store...and plus i know what you mean about how much you paid for them and dont want to take them out
i can relate because I was in a similar situation....although i have not experienced breakage around the eges and i am going on year # 3 with my change from perm to Afro. I am actually all natural now and i had shoulder length hair too, one thing i would suggest to encourage your continued transition to natural hair would be to use only human hair because from my experience synthetic hair is more heavier than human hair, human hair can prevent breakage which is a major problem for women with long hair transitioning to natural. I also noticed that synthetic hair drinks all of the nutrients from your hair leaving your hair weak and dry even when you add moisturizing cremes, hair dress etc. Human hair allows the products to actually be absorb in your own hair shaft encouraging less breakage related to dry brittle vitamin depleted hair. Use jojoba oil around your edges to encourage continued moisture retention and hydration and hair breakage prevention. Clean your pores around your edges with alcohol. And yes you can clean your entire scalp that way. Of course eventually you would have to start trimming your perm hair once your natural hair starts coming in to prevent hair breakage so it may be time to say goodbye to some of your permed hair of course it will decrease your length but only until your natural hair grows in. Hope this helps

http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg45/鈥?/a>Is my hair long enough for extensions? Hair Help?
Most hair stylist will not do hair extensions until hair is 4-5 inches long. This is so the hair cover any tracks or beads used and so that the hair will blend with your natural hair.

However I've heard of many male actors who got extensions in their short hair for movie roles, Tom Cruise being one of them, but that was only to make their hair slightly longer, not the length you're probably wanting. Is my hair long enough for extensions? Hair Help?
yes it is, What they would have to do is sew a net to your hair, and then sew the hair onto the net. Its hard to explain, watch it on youtube, and it should explain a lot better than me, haha

  • Human Hair Extensions. Hair Color Question?

    Hi.

Last year i purchased easixtend hair extensions (10h24b) Color: english Toffee.

I'd like to purchase another set but don't want to pay $200.00 again.

Question is: Can anyone tell me if they know of any other cheaper brands with that color? They do have to be human hair! Or any ideas on color names that would be like english toffee?Human Hair Extensions. Hair Color Question?
Go to a beauty supply store that caters to African American women. They have weave for days in beauty supply stores and have every color you can imagine. They carry synthetic, and human hair. Most of the beauty supplies that I visit have someone there that can assist you with finding the best color to match what you're looking for and you'll spend anywhere from 9.99 (cheaper fake stuff) - 60.00 (human stuff) on one bag of hair depending on the length you want and if it's human hair or synthetic.Human Hair Extensions. There is a Solutions called Hair Remover Glue (really, that is the name of it lol) You just put it where the glue is and it loosens up the glue and the track (or wig) so that you can wash and comb it right out.

Also, if you dont want to buy the solution, conditioner works just as good. Put the conditioner where the glue is and let it sit for about 10 minutes then wash and comb it out. Thats what i use when i dont have the solution!

Hmm...extension? ConrowsWhat type of extension hair braid is this called?
    cornrows?
The only thing i can think of that involves a c is cornrows (Corn-Rows)

This isn't an extension though, it can be done with your real hair.

All it is, is a french braid using a fraction of the hair. Most cornrows are rolled from the front of the scalp (from you forehead) to the back (neck.)
There is an EXTENSION called ';Interlock'; that is like individual braids (Don't know of one that starts with a C that is an extension). The hair is only braided at the root and the rest is left unbraided for a natural effect that is virtually undetectable.
u might be talking about cornrows

If you want a wig, then make sure to get a good quality one. Actually, I tried a wig once and it was just too much maintenance to keep it. I had to flatten the hair I had with a super tight head covering that hurt my skull, and it kept falling off anyway!! Also, I could barely get a brush through there because it got some tangled and messy that it just looked like a...wig. If you seriously want one, get one made with REAL HUMAN HAIR!!What do you think of Hair Wigs, Do you wear one or know someone who does?? Extensions? Hair pieces?
I would say a great site to visit for quality hair extensions and clip in hair extensions is http://www.ultimatehairextensions.com as they offer heaps of colours and different application methods including the new method hitting the industry by storm. They are small invisible tape hair extensions also known as skin weft hair extensions. They last 2-3 months and only take 45 minutes to be applied and you cant even feel them that alone see them. The clip in hair extensions are also very good for 1 day wear as you clip them in and out. Both off these methods are non damaging as I have worn both. http://www.ultimatehairextensions.com also has videos on applications which is fantastic. There are other sites and pages which are good to look at which are http://www.ultimatehairextensions.com/hairextensionsarticle.htm

Also you can find great sites on google image search or msn

    I hope this has helped.
    i wear clip in extensions.

if you are wearing glue in, or the braided in kinds.. or whatever other kinds there are,

i would just suggest you go buy some clip in ones.

they do not damage your hair.

they are easy to manage and you take them out when you sleep or shower.

i bought mine for 240$ but they range anywhere from around 200$-400$ for real hair.

i would not suggest synthetic ones because they don't look very nice. they are shiny and plastic looking, kind of like barbies hair.

you also cannot curl/straighten OR dye synthetic ones or they will damage or melt.

they can last a lifetime if you take care of them properly.

if you are considering this, then you should do some research on the web and ask your hairdresser about them.

i have heard nothing but bad about wigs!

i wouldn't recommend one to you or anyone else.

there is ways to fix your dry and damaged hair.

you can buy all kind of products to rehydrate your hair and make it healthier again.

also you can buy special shampoo and conditioner to hydrate your hair.

    hope i helped!
i know someone who wears one, but they said if you already have hair it'll irritate your head.

however if you still want one, get a synthetic one, they are easier to look after but still a lot of hard work.
